
Amazon Silk is a web browser developed for the Amazon Kindle Fire. Some of the processing could be done in Amazon cloud to improve webpage load time, but could also be disabled to avoid privacy concern and in particular for SSL (HTTPS) connections. This new browser will runs on a modified version of Android for Amazon Kindle Fire. The underlying layout engine is based on WebKit.
