All TD-H8 radios can be set for 1 of 3 different modes: Ham, GMRS, or Normal. Ham only TX on 2m/70cm, GMRS only TX on FRS/GMRS channels, and Normal can TX/RX on all possible frequencies. This can be set with a special power-on sequence.
